Final preparations for the show are in place and the judges are raring to go. They will have veg and fruit to compare, flowers to inspect and (best job of all) baking and preserves to taste. The handicraft and photography classes will be admired and debated at length and eventually all the classes will be judged, scored and placed first, second and third.
We have already had quite few entries for this year and are excited about the numbers we are expecting. Everything will be on show to the public after 2pm on show day, with free entry and tea and cake courtesy of the Landgate WI available.
Now for the serious bit………..there are just 5 important basics to remember when you enter:
- No entrants’ names will be on show until the prize winner’s cards are revealed.
- All entries must be made before 5pm on Friday 29th August by filling in an entry form from the schedules or using the interactive form on the website under the ‘Show’ section.
- All entries must be brought to the Community Centre on Saturday 30th August between 8.30am and 11.30am.
- Ensure you have the correct number of items in your display See website or schedule for exact requirements. Sorry to say that the RHS judge can’t judge any entries that are incorrect.
- If you need help don’t hesitate to contact us! The full rules are available in the schedule and on the website.
Don’t be nervous about entering the show, it’s a very relaxed and friendly event and anyone of any age from anywhere is welcome. But if you are a bit concerned this year, come along after 2pm and enjoy the spectacle and decide what you might like to compete with next year.
Lorna and Helena are looking forward to meeting up with you all very soon.
