BlogNewsVeg Show

Two weeks today, so don’t delay

If you’d like to know more about Charles Dickens connection with our horticultural show then you can hear all about it on the brand new podcast at www.ryecast.org

We are very excited to have already received dozens of early entries for the 2022 show. It seems that despite the weather, drought, heat etc… we are all still enthused about our gardening and baking skills and we are expecting another fabulous display of local goodies.

The schedule booklets are at various locations around the town including Adams, Bargain Box, Channons, The Rye Hub, Gems Garden Centre and The Pette Shoppe but the full schedule including the classes and an interactive entry form is also available here on our website and it’s very easy to complete. You can ‘contact us’ on the website too if you have any queries.

  • Entry forms, digital and paper must be submitted by Friday 2nd September at 5pm (unfortunately, we cannot accept any further entries on the day).
  • The hall is open for checking in your entries from 8.30am till 11.30am.  Please be patient if we get a flurry!
  • The judging takes place from 11.30am and the show will be open to the public from 2pm.
  • Prize giving by The Mayor of Rye will be at 3.30pm.

Don’t be deterred by the competition, many first-time entries win prizes and we are a lovely, friendly and relaxed local show.  All entries are judged ‘blind’ and names are only shown if you win something! We are really looking forward to welcoming participants old and new and admiring your entries.

Check out your veggie and flower gardens, get out your cookery books and paint brushes, sort out your favourite photographs and pot plants and please join us on the day.

If you can’t enter this year, for whatever reason, you are very welcome to pop along at 2pm to admire the display.
